ChemMaths - Chemical Engineering, Mathematical and Chemistry program
Review by on
Based in Melbourne, Australia, ChemEng Software Design is a company that specializes in coming up with software applications for the chemical and engineering fields. So far ChemEng Software Design has come up with the following applications: UnitsPro, ProsimGraphsPro, DataPro, EquationsPro and ChemMaths.

Putting the spotlight on the later application, on ChemMaths, here are the bits and pieces you need to know about it. First of all you need to know that ChemMaths is ChemEng Software Design flagship product.

You also need to know what that ChemMaths is a collection of smaller applications perfectly suited for the student or professional in the chemical, engineering and teaching field. ChemMaths is a chemical engineering, mathematical and chemistry program that provides detailed information on more than 3,000 chemical compounds, allowing prediction of chemical compound properties, critical constants, thermodynamic properties, surface tension, gas & liquid diffusivity, viscosity calculations, and so on. ChemMaths comes with some 200 unit conversions, and can solve several hundred civil/mechanical/chemical/electrical engineering, design, distillation, physics, and mathematical equations.

Should you decide to get ChemMaths and put it to the test, you must first download the application. In this regard you must know that the download weighs in at some 10MB – shouldn’t take too long for the download to complete in you’re on a high-speed internet connection. Once the download completes, it is time to install the application. In this regard you must know that ChemMaths will work with just about any version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system.

The functionality that ChemMaths provides does not come free of charge. You can use the application free of charge but only for 20 uses, during a 30-day trial period. Once your 20 uses or the 30 days are up, you need to pay for a license to keep using ChemMaths.

Pros
  • Detailed info on more than 3,000 chemical compounds
  • 200 unit conversions
  • Several hundred civil/mechanical/chemical/electrical engineering, design, distillation, physics, and mathematical equations
  • ChemMaths incorporates DataPro, EquationsPro and ProsimGraphsPro features

Cons
  • Trial version limited to 20 users (during a 30-day trial period)
